At gunpoint, they demanded that the employees lay down, and they got their way. One of the workers wearing a blue shirt was kicked in the head while attempting to resist the robbers. Others who attempted to resist the criminals also took blows to the head.

In pursuit of gold, the robbers started scouring the office. The other two went to where the money sack was stored while the other three continued their hunt. The workers were shocked when they emerged carrying the money and dragging the sack on the ground due to how heavy the money and gold were.

On three motorcycles, they made off with gold weighing 408.5 kilos and cash totaling GHC613,000.00 (six hundred and thirteen thousand Ghana cedis).

Three of these thieves have already been taken into custody by the Tarkwa Police Command: Togolese Samuel Amaeshi, age 47; Nigerian Ezekiel Stephen, age 45; and Ghanaian Fataw Awudu, age 42.

Communities within this enclave were alerted because information acquired by the police suggested that the robbers used the Tarkwa Banso, Esuso Bonsawire road.
Samuel Amaeshi and Ezekiel Stephen, two suspects, were taken into custody on Tuesday evening by the Police Intelligence Department and Police Patrol with the help of members of the local community.

The bag has 4.7 grams of gold and cash totaling GHC 397,190 (three hundred and ninety-seven thousand, one hundred and ninety cedis).
Using information, the Police Intelligence Department also detained Fataw Awudu on April 19, 2023.

While the police continue to investigate to apprehend the other suspects, all three suspects are now being held in jail.
